Swiss Turning
Capabilities
- 13 axis Swiss Turning capability for complex parts
- Quantity of one, to full production runs
- Typical diameter – anything up to 2.5 inches
A Swiss-type lathe is a type of turning center designed to turn small, complex, precision parts. Unlike conventional lathes where the part is stationary and the tool moves, a Swiss-type turning center allows the part to move in the Z axis, and the tool is stationary. This allows for the manufacturing of parts with very small diameters and a much greater length to diameter ratio.
